 Judging by the emails and private messages we have received over the past day or so, many PSU Playbook readers have heard the news that we are about to open the next chapter of PSU Playbook, bringing it to an unprecedented level of Penn State coverage. First off, thank you for all the notes and well-wishes - we're excited to see all the enthusiasm from fans. We are excited and proud to announce that PSU Playbook will be joining forces with some of the best names in PSU news and coverage to continue pioneering PSU coverage for the Nittany Nation.

One of the primary goals of PSU Playbook is to provide you with a centralized location for Nittany Lions news from around the Internet. As such, our daily 'Headlines' feature, which collects PSU related stories from around the web has become popular among Penn Staters around the globe. Well, in an effort to continually enhance the Playbook for you and other PSU fans we have improved our headline system. Aside from the popularity of the feature, we have also received feedback from a variety of sources that the articles take up a lot of unnecessary space on the homepage, so we have devised this system we think is a solution for everyone.

| Icers Hockey Highlights Busy Weekend Broadcast Schedule |

 The Penn State Nittany Lion Icers face off to open the 2004-2005 season tonight at 9:00 PM from the Greenburg Ice Pavilion, and PSU Playbook is proud to be the exclusive home this year of Icers Hockey with Steve Penstone calling all the play by play. A challenging weekend is in store for the Icers with 3 games in 3 days, opening tonight vs West Chester.
On Saturday, the Icers travel to Towson, Maryland to take on the Towson Tigers at 5:30, then on Sunday, the team will play a rematch with West Chester, this time on the road. Joe Battista's Nittany Lion Icers are 7 time ACHA national champions, taking the number 2 spot last year in the ACHA tournament after completing an unprecidented four-peat as champions from 2000-2003.

When we launched this website, we never anticipated the growth we would see, or the number of Nittany Lion fans worldwide who would make the PSU Playbook their first stop for information and Penn State sports discussion. We are proud to announce another new, innovative, exclusive addition to the PSU Playbook website. Watch the homepage tonight for a link to In The Game an all-PSU Sports show produced by Penn State students for Penn State Network Television, which is available on campus through the PSU Cable System. It's a "Best Damn Sports Show" formatted look at Penn State sports produced by PSU students.

Leading up to the most anticipated Penn State football season in recent memory, rabid interest in the Nittany Lions has driven the popularity of the PSU Playbook website to previously unseen levels. For the month of August, the Playbook has set a new standard by recording well over one million page views.
One million is a pretty big number. When we launched this website, we never anticipated the growth we would see, or the number of Nittany Lion fans worldwide who would make the PSU Playbook their first stop for information and Penn State sports discussion. It took six months to reach our first million page views. We've been flirting all year with the million mark - evidenced by the six million views recorded so far in 2004 - but we have never gone over this mark in one month.
Until now.
